New trails
It's not very often you get to ride new trails that are only a stones throw from where you have been riding for some time. But this route managed to add a whole new set close to rides we'd been riding for a while. Sharing small sections with both the Uley ride and the North Nibley ride some of the trails in this Dursley ride could be added to either route.
Making the most of the hills above the Cotswold town of Dursley this ride really does pack a lot into a small area. Starting off with a tarmac hill climb out of the town before riding up the 'Dursely' descent of the Uley and Nibley rides. The first playground on the ride is at Breakheart Quarry, a stunning piece of single track on the side of the hill through the trees tracking back to start of the descent. The single track boast jumps and drops all of which are rollable.
Moving in to the woods above Woodmancote there is more woodland single track with more drops and jumps. Again there is nothing that can't be rolled, it really is a great bit of single track. We're off to Stincombe round the hill and back into Sheep Path Woods for even more single track, down some steeps before again climbing back up. Some more woodland single track before the final descent back into Dursley town centre.
So it seems no matter how much you think you know an area there's always a spot that you've not found. Time to get out on our bikes and explore our backyards and beyond.
