    Box Mountain Bike Ride

    Cotswold mountain bike routes

    Including a mine

Staring in Bathford and riding out to Box, with an opportunity to play on sime single track in Box woods and visit the Box stone mines.

Starting at the same location as the Bathford ride in Bathford does mean that the first climb is the same vicious road climb. That is where the overlap ends so doing both rides as one requires this climb to be done twice. The ride also shares the same rocky descent as the Castle Combe ride, So with some strong legs a detour could be made to include more riding.

Box woods contain some short but very sweet single track with some decent features. From flowing single track to more technical with drops and jumps there is enough to entertain for a good few laps. The climb back up isn't horrific either so a bonus there.

This is a ride we tend not to do so much in the summer as some of the trails can get quite overgrown with nettles. Not ordinary stinging nettles either, these bad boys leave you itching for a good long while afterwards. This shouldn't put you off though as it remains rideable throughout the year. Whilst although wet most of it isn't to sticky when it comes to the mud.
