Cotswold Mountain Biking Routes

Rides around the Cotswolds

Cotswold mountain biking routes

I’ve been riding around the Cotswolds for a while now, during that time I have been searching for new trails  and countryside to explore. My starting point has been Tom Fenton’s Cotswolds Mountain Biking: 20 Classic Rides, which as good as it is does run out after a while.

So I’ve started to collect the rides that I do around my home turf, I’m trying to provide information about the ride along with a GPS track (in GPX form) of it as I have ridden them. The GPS track should be accurate but bear in mind that devices vary and GPS accuracy varies so please don’t blindly follow a GPS track. If your new to the area or haven’t ride around the Cotswolds I do recommend buying the book as it does include directions.

Some of the routes do stray from byways and bridleways so use common sense when riding on footpaths, I know we shouldn’t but sometimes there really isn’t a better option, so just be respectful. Be safe when out wear a helmet, take a phone, let someone know where your off to and take a map, the OS Explorer series are good 168179, OL45, 167 and 156 cover the area. Most of all have fun!

I’m going to try to keep adding routes through the year, each will have it’s own post but I’ll round them up here.

Hello pal, really like what you’re doing as I’m finding it hard to find routes in the Cotswold after recently moving down. I’m ashamed to say I am new to GPS maps – found an app to open it (bike hub) but can’t get past step one which is downloading the GPS file in the first place. Any ideas? Thanks, Steve
